Using Mod Packs

Mod Packs are stored in the client_pc\root\mods folder. You can pack the contents of your local folder (excluding the local folder itself, the root of your PAK must contain the tpl, pct, ssl folders).

Info

A PAK file is identical to a ZIP archive and can be created with any archiver, such as 7z. Make sure that your PAK is in the ZIP format (and not any other archive type) and that compression is set to Store (no compression).

Server files, Client files and Resource files go into a single mod pack.

Inside the mod PAK, you can create the initial\initial_<mod_pak_name>.resource file. This permanently loads the specified resources into memory, keeping them accessible at all times. Refer to Mod PAK Example A in the attached files.

Mod PAKs do not require cache file generation.

Since PTS 7.0 and later, mod PAKs are the only way to mod the game. Editing default PAKs directly crashes the game on the start. Mod PAKs have higher priority over default PAKs and are sorted alphabetically. If modA and modB change the same file, virtual file system selects the file version from modA.
